Cambodia & Vietnam: Their Place in American History

During the summer of 2018, I flew to Southeast Asia with Honor College for five weeks. As a class, we traveled around Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia. We learned about the impact of the Vietnam War and the Khmer Rouge on the community. While in Cambodia, I had the opportunity to teach English to a group of future Cambodian primary-school teachers. My group and I also managed to fundraise over $1,000 to create necessity backpacks for primary school children and $1,000 to donate to Anchang Village Spitler Primary School's "Bike to the Future" program to provide students with bicycles to attend secondary school.
